Main Article Content
Abstract
Silver economy is about population aging. It reflects in the development of entrepreneurship, in the promotion and commercialization of innovative products and services requested by elderly consumers. This paper aims to analyze and characterize Silver economy scientific content between 2011 to 2021 years. The applied research methodology is set as: basic, quantitative, exploratory and descriptive. The strategy used in this research to quantify scientific activities was bibliometric techniques application plus data extraction from Scopus and Web of Science databases. A total of 118 papers were selected and the following dimensions were analyzed: authors and their productivity; relationship of citations between databases and types of scientific production; and journals connection with affiliated institutions. From these results, it is possible to notice that Silver economy is still with few works and great potential for exploration. The largest number of publications occured from 2016 to 2019, this last year being the most frequent in the historical series. It was also found a shrinkage of academic production in 2020 and 2021. From these findings, it is concluded by this study that is possible to understand current academic context, showing unprecedented characteristics about research progress of Silver economy.
